The beginning of Dave's makeup class

Periodically we have to wait for Dave or work around his classes that he teaches. Last saturday before the pictures it was his makeup class we had to wait for... after a little sleuthing we found an early picture of Dave preparing at a young age for his role as an instructor in fine cosmetics!!!

Secret Date Feb 21, 2009

Here's the travel log for our secret date last weekend. We decided to do a morning / daytime date this time. We picked everyone up around 10am and headed to breakfast at Jeremiah's in Ogden. They have great breakfast and everyone seemed to enjoy it. We had good conversation, and then headed up Ogden canyon. Mike is a semi-amateur photographer, so we took some couples pictues in the canyon. I wish we would have had more time for pictures, but it was still fun. There was lots of snow still and it was rather chilly. Anyway, we headed to the movie at the Megaplex. We saw Pink Panther and it was pretty good. Then we called it a day and headed home. Also, Dave was in charge of presents and did a gift bag with some nice items. The "Adult" party game made us nervous, but oh well. We all know how Dave is.

So, what's the scoop

The Secret Date Society is a group of friends. Right now, it is 4 couples (because that is all we can fit in one car). We decided to start taking our wives on "secret" dates. This usually just means that the girls don't know what is going on. It has been lots of fun, and has been going on since Fall 2008. We usually shoot for once a month or so, and the dates are different sorts of activities. I can't speak for the other guys, but for me, this is a chance to show my wife how much I love and care about her. To have something fun to do, with good friends, and to add some "spice" to the relationship. The girls have all commented that they feel like they are in High School again, and are a little anxious about what is going on. We often joke and tease about the dates, telling them to bring a swimming suit, snow boots, and a bag of potatoes (or any other suggestions to keep them guessing). So, that is the basic scoop. I'll give a play-by-play and example in another post. We just had a secret date this past weekend.

SDS Birth Day

Today is the birth day of the secret date society blog. I will try to post some more information and pictures later in the day. After we get some content, we will let the girls know about the blog site and let them check it out. I guess, I should at least explain a little.
